Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the church out of a concern for people being misled to think they could get their dead relatives out of purgatory by paying money to the church. We have to hold on to the teachings of Jesus in spite of social pressures around us…no matter what it costs. Our Lord went to the cross so that we could be forgiven and be made right with God.
