Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for setting aside God’s law with their traditions. Jesus brought in a New Covenant when he died on the cross for our sins. Mark 7:19 is a key verse to explain the transition from Jewish dietary restrictions to the church of today. Christianity is not about ceremonies or traditions but about the inner person cleansed by Christ.
