David, the Lord’s anointed, was a fugitive on the run from King Saul when he arrived at the tabernacle to ask the priest for provisions of food and a sword. Not only did he lie to the priest but then later took refuge in the city of a Philistine king. Psalm 34 shows his repentance when he teaches us to find our refuge in God, having confidence that he will deliver his people.
